In 2020, I recommended the book “Barry Sonnenfeld, Call Your Mother,” in which the director/cinematographer discussed his troubled childhood as well as his work on such movies as “Get Shorty,” “When Harry Met Sally,” and “Blood Simple.” He proved to be not only a talented filmmaker, but also a helluva storyteller.
