Here’s the conversation I had today on KTRS/St. Louis with Ann and Nancy Wilson of the rock band Heart, who have a new book about their careers, “Kicking and Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul, and Rock & Roll” and a new album (due in 2 weeks) called “Fanatic.” I asked them about the sexism they faced from a male-dominated rock culture, what it was like the first time they heard one of their songs on the radio, and what they thought when they saw themselves on MTV. I also asked Nancy about her work creating music for “Jerry Maguire” and “Almost Famous,” and how Ann’s voice is holding up after overcoming years of alcohol and drug problems.
