When people say they’re “workaholics,” do they really work as many hours as they think? As Laura Vanderkam explained on my America Weekend show today, the research shows that they don’t — they chronically overestimate how much they work. We talked about how people on a salary, as opposed to those paid by the hour, undermine their own productivity. I also asked her about claims about the effect of events like the Super Bowl and March Madness on the amount of work getting done on the job in America.
