Ken Levine, who spent years writing and producing such TV classics as “M*A*S*H,” “Cheers,” and “Frasier,” has written a one-act play called “America’s Sexiest Couple.” Here’s how he describes it: “Two actors, who were “America’s Sexiest Couple” on a popular ’90s sitcom reunite for the first time in 25 years. They face a lifetime of unresolved issues, longings, resentments, and regrets.”
It’s been produced in a Zoom version as a benefit for the Actors Fund, with two perfectly-cast actors as the leads: Tim Daly and Joely Fisher. The former was a star of “Wings” and part of the “Diner” ensemble, while the latter was flat-out hilarious opposite Brad Garrett on “‘Til Death,” as well as on Ellen DeGeneres’ sitcom. Together, they have wonderful chemistry and Ken’s script provides quite a few laughs.
