He not only touches on the highs (various Monty Python projects), but also the lows, including “An Alan Smithee Film,” “Casper,” and the dreadful sitcom “Nearly Departed.” He also discusses “The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash,” his 1978 mockumentary which brilliantly parodied The Beatles — and preceded “This Is Spinal Tap” by six years (I wrote about it last year upon the death of Neil Innes, who wrote The Rutles’ songs).
