President Obama gave a big speech last week on his plans to increase home ownership in the US, including helping more people who are upside-down on their mortgages and winding down government-backed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
But Rick Newman of Yahoo Finance thinks Obama’s message on home ownership is outdated — that instead of promoting owning a home as the dream for all Americans, he should be telling more people to rent a place to live.
