It’s no fun being stuck on an airplane on the tarmac for an hour, let alone three, but it’s a little nicer when you have some music to listen to. It’s even better when the music is being performed live by musicians on the plane.
That’s what happened this week when a flight from Beijing to Macau was delayed and four members of the Philadelphia Orchestra — in the midst of a two-week tour of China — took out their viola, cello, and violins.
