Last week, I saw a piece on Slate by Jackson Landers, in which he describes eating the world’s hottest pepper, a Butch T Scorpion pepper. Naturally, I had some questions, so I invited him on my America Weekend show to explain, starting with why he did it, what he had to do to deal with the pain in his mouth, whether it had any effect on the rest of his body, and how much hotter this pepper was than, say, a jalapeno.
