Last week, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a new report about the impact of climate change and how it is already affecting us. To explain the report, I asked Michael Mann (one of our top climate scientists) to join me on America Weekend.
I asked Mike whether the extreme weather we’ve seen recently was due to climate change, whether its impact on farmland could cause a real-life “Hunger Games” in the near future, and whether we can still do anything to prevent more devastating effects of climate change. We also discussed how the US is way behind the rest of the world in dealing with this problem, mostly due to the stubbornness of right-wing Republicans on Capitol Hill.
