The common cold has been around longer than any of us, and we still aren’t close to a cure. Why? On my America Weekend show, biochemistry professor Ann Palmenberg explained that it’s not as simple as coming up with a medicine or vaccine to fight a single virus, because there may be as many at 160 different viruses causing the common cold. So, is Big Pharma looking for a cure, or are the dollars from current over-the-counter remedies too big? And, frankly, she says you’re part of the problem since you don’t deal with a cold the same way you deal with the flu.
