Watching this video of a CNN reporter and crew having a close call in Ukraine reminded me of the “Broadcast News” scene in which Albert Brooks says, “I can’t believe I just risked my life for a network that tests my face with focus groups.”
Thank goodness CNN+ has finally launched so we can see a news network that appeals to a younger demographic by having Chris Wallace talk to William Shatner about space travel. Coming up next, Wolf Blitzer and guest Tom Selleck have a lively discussion on urban police policy.
Just read this headline: “US To Welcome Up To 100,000 Refugees From Ukraine.” Funny how we don’t have the same compassion for people trying to get away from misery and suffering in Central America.
Gotta give Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson a lot of credit for restraint during her confirmation hearings. If it were me, I’d start every answer to a GOP question with, “Well, you steaming pile of horse manure…” Then again, maybe she is saying that — INSIDE her head.
I’d like to see a TV report on the death of William Hurt where, at the end, there’s a quick cut to the reporter with a tear on their cheek. Done after the fact, without a second camera, of course.
