I was saddened to hear of the sudden death of former “Mythbusters” co-star Grant Imahara at age 49.

Here’s a conversation I had with him on December 9, 2016, about that show and a new project he did with Kari Byron and Tory Belleci for Netflix. Among the topics we discussed:

  • Whether he had a robot pop the question to his girlfriend when they got engaged just a few days before we talked;
  • What happened to Geoff Peterson, the skeleton sidekick he created for Craig Ferguson’s “Late Late Show”;
  • Why the new show was called “The White Rabbit Project”;
  • The stories he, Kari, and Tory told on the new show and the devices he created (like the “cryo-gun”);
  • Whether Tory hurt himself on the new show as much as he did on the old one;
  • The frustration of the “Speed” bus jump he tried to recreate on “Mythbusters” in 2009;
  • What Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman were up to post-“Mythbusters.”
